power supply electrical geekness question

i was wondering if its possible to plug a black light neon tube made to be plugged in a car cigarette lighter plug (a car battery is 12v if im right) into the 12 volt of my power supply?

i was thinking of cutting the lighter adaptor, and solder the wire to my 12v connectors of my PSU.

can this be done? is the amp output of the psu sufficient to power the black lite without damaging anything?

my power supply is a enermax 550w.
 
Those neon lights don't draw much power at all, so plugging it into a computer power supply will be no problem.
 
I don't see any problems with it, I think it would be fine.
 
I say it should be fine. If anything goes wrong post it up on this board.
 
I would suggest that you go somewhere like frozencpu.com and get some molex pins and connectors and solder the wires to that to make disconnecting and connect a lot easier
