Power supply, cd/dvd problems

I have an oldie hp pavilion 783c. I've recently upgraded my graphics card and RAM up to 2 gigs. It seems after I installed the RAM the CD/DVD drives stopped working. Could this be the power supply? sorry for the noobish question >_<

The RAM wouldn't push the PSU over the edge, but the video card might have (although it's unlikely that you would have this kind of problem from a PSU issue). Try removing the video card and putting the old one back in and see if the drives are detected. If they are, it could be a power issue. If not, it might actually be an issue with the new RAM that you've put in.

Switched them out and it's definitely not the video card. Wonder how the RAM could affect the cd/dvd drive?
