Hopefully, within the enxt month or 2, I'll be moving fro AXP to A64. I usually do power supply's on a budget, thinking they aren't all that important and one company is as good as the next. But after reading the WidowPC review... I'm beginning to think otherwise, even with this current machine.
I have a 300watt (15A on the 12V rail) in Deaon (check sig) that I can't get above 2400mhz (12x200 Mhz). Would Shelling out for a decent Powersupply now be a good idea, maybe pushing this machine a little harder. Another thing is no matter what I do, I can't get memmory above 200Mhz. Trust me, I want an A64 bases system more than anyone, but I can't budget it just yet, and this box is already getting long in the tooth.
(Here's a funny note, I had a 250w die on me about 3 years ago, and had to slap a 180w temoprarily, which I took to quakecon in '03. AND it was running with a 5950U @ the time. Unfortunately, that's kinda why I now have the opnion that PS's aren't all that important.)
