Power supply advice appreciated

I need a new power supply for the PC in my sig. Suggestions?

edit: I am probably going for a high 400, low 500 model anyway, I just wonder what are the better performing and trusted models right now. Thanks.

ocz powerstream models are fairly bulletproof. i have the 420watt, but theres a 520 also.

What kind of budget you have. The OCZ Powerstreams are very good PSUs as is the Fortron Blue Storm which is slightly cheaper than the OCZ PSU. Then there is the king of the hill the PCP&C PSUs, but they will cost you money. For your system however, the OCZ or the Fortron will be enough.

Quit looking at wattage.

Ive seen 500W power supplies that only perform as well as 400W's because of the way they split the amps up for each rail.

With an A64 and one GeForce FX, you can easily get by with something with only 22A or more on the 12V rail. Some like to play it safe with no less than 28A on the 12V rail (OCZ 420 and up, PCP&C 510, Ultra 500 and up, etc.) and that's cool too (but expensive.)

Since most anything dual rail is going to have at least 12A per rail, you're good there too.

Just don't buy something like a Thermaltake 480W with only 17A on the 12V rail and then complain about lock ups and crashes because "it can't be the power supply.... it's a 480W!"
