Has anyone heard of an adapter plate so I can put an ATX PS into the large hole left by an AT "L Type" PS.

I've never heard of it. There is usually much more to converting an at case to an atx case that it wouldn't make sense to sell one little part of it. If you are cutting it up anyway then you might as well make an adapter while you are at it.
