I just upgraded my system from an nvidia 5900 to a Radeon 9800 Pro (128MB sapphire). Now whenever I run ANY 3D program my computer will simply shut off w/o warnings of any sort. I have a brand new 550 watt power supply so I know the power is clean is getting to the system. If I put the nvidia back in, everything works fine.
WinXP Pro
Updated all video card drivers
Updated motherboard AGP drivers
Reinstalled DirectX 9b
The VPU fan is running.
I get no overheat warnings (either with the PC speaker or a pop-up)
Followed ATI's FAQ to the "T" about installing their card/software. Any more ideas?
