If that were how it actually worked, then i'd probably agree with you. But not only is windows not very smart about when to spin up/down, but also, how often are you really going to not use a hard drive for 2 days and then use? In that case, it would make more sense to have an external drive which you can selectively power up when needed.Malogato said:Running a drive that's doing nothing for 2 days, letting it generate all that heat has *got* to be worse than only powering the drive up on the "once in a blue moon" you need it.
