"Power Saving" Program? (Harddrives!)

Hey guys,

In my server computer, I have 6 harddrives. As you can imagine, this can make the computer quite hot/loud, as its in an Antec Sonata case. Utilizing the Windows Power Manager, I can turn the monitor off in 20 minutes, but for some reason the "turn harddrives off" function doesn't work for me, and the harddrives stay on.

I was wondering if they are any 3rd-party power management programs that can let me turn the harddrives off at will or after a certain amount of time.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thank you!

Err...

An update, first. :) The harddrives do turn off now, but they randomly turn themselves back on for no particular reason. I assume that this is due to the indexing - how would I go about disabling this?

Thanks.

in Windows Explorer, RClick each Drive and select Properties
uncheck "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching"

then if you want it system wide

Start > Run > (type) services.msc > Dclick Indexing Service > Startup Type > Manual or Disabled
