having some trouble with my new build, think it could be a bad psu:
my setup is in the sig but in case you are too lazy;

Thermaltake Armor
A8n32 SLI-Deluxe
AMD X2 4400+ (Zalman 9500)
Seagate 300GB, Maxtor 300GB, WD 200GB, WD Raptor 74GB SATA
Memorex DL optical driver/burner
Audigy Gamer Soundcard
2GB Corsair XMS memory
2x EVGA 7800GT (SLI)

all this on a Silverstone ST60F 600w PSU

Basically the problem is this, the computer glitches and freezes when running in SLI, also sometimes one of my harddrives will run slowly and cause the system to lock up. When I take out the second card (which is bad anyway so i have to RMA it) the single card setup runs fine, almost. Except in critical moments in high demanding games it will freeze for a short time and then jump back into the game within a minute with no graphical errors, just the freezing. So im thinking its possible my PSU is bad (and i would have to RMA that too ) or maybe my system is too demanding, but that doesn't sound quite right with a 600w PSU. So if you could help diagnose the problem, and recommend any other fine PSU's that would work WELL with my sytem, i would be much obliged.

No point spamming, your post is not buried in the archives...

From the first looks, it looks like the power supply will be able to handle the issue. You said you RMAed the 2nd video card due to issues, and with the dual-core you have, I suspect it's more related to the video and dual-core issues.

Check in http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=983781 for some dual-core gaming fixes.

Usual signs of a failing psu : unexpected reboots, issues with startup, general instability, etc...

I trashed your other thread....there is no point in having two.

Second you are having this problem with one card as well....correct?

Yea it freezes in certain games like cs: source and farcy, but not in others like bf2 or rome: total war. So it could be specific to the dual core processor which i know a certain number of games would have conflicts with, and since there are no graphical errors only slowdown, it makes more sense that the processor is to blame. Sorry for spamming (every 12 hours?) and my other post was moved here from general hardware (although it is generalhardware because the problem is from unknown source). I will try the AMD dual core update from the link when I get home and see if that fixes things, when i get my second video card back ill have to run 3dmark06 to see if i need to install the SLI fix too.

Yes like I was saying in certain games especially CS: source, at random points the game will freeze, sometimes with a repeating sound clip, and then the sound stops and a few seconds later it starts again (in sp games right where it left off, mp just lags and catches up). Once while playing Half life 2 after coming out of the freeze something on the map i was in got corrupted and when i looked at it i would get barraged by random vectors of textures (like giant walls of random textures shooting out from a single point towards me).
