Can the Shuttle handle it? 240 watt PSU 754 cpu nForce3 150 chipset ?

I would just run a 7200 8mb cache hd and like 1gb ram, and a cdrom.

would it be possible to run a serial ata as well?

There are a few posts around where people have done it, but look at the specs..... doesn't seem possible :clueless:

Shuttle PSUs are pretty high quality. I don't know anyone running a 6800 in one but I imagine it could be done.

Just put my 6800GT in my SN45G, with 200 watt PSU and it seems to be running fine.

If I remember correctly, the BFG dude said that the card would work for a while but would be steadily damaging it, also the 6800GT is a 2slot solution.

i don't really undestand why shuhttle wouldnt come out with more powerfull psu's maybe its just too much heat?

B/c their 250W (quality PSU) is fine for a highend CPU & highend videocard +2 drives. B/c thats all you can fit. Plus, max watts isnt a true measure of a PSU. A high quality 200W PSU could perform better than a cheapo 400W PSU. (consistent power, spikes, failure, etc)

Now if you have a full tower case with 10+ drives, highend CPU & videocard, lotsa PCI cards, etc. You might need a 400W PSU.

But a 250W what they have in their new SFF XPC's should do fine.

And the 6800GT can be a single slot solution, where most 6800 Ultras are double slot.

6800GT is 1 slot 6800 Ultra is 2 slots.

Same thing here, I've been running the same combination since last week, and it's worked like a charm.

I've read lots of posts from people who've used the 6800GT in SFF cases with no prob.

In fact, here is an extra cool looking one:

Your psu should work fine afaik.

SB65G2
2.6c@3.13 until it gets cooler (no AC turned on)
6800GT OC'd past Ultra speeds
2 SATA hdds
DVD-RW
Audigy2

all on the stock 220W PSU.

not a single problem.

Sooooooo if they run 70C+ in a desktop machine then uhh isn't it even hotter in a shuttle!? o_O

just get proper vents on the side

besides the cards can take 90C no problem :)

If you consider the 6800GT a 2 slot solution you consider the x800pro and x800xt 2 slot solutions also because all three are the same height.

It would be silly to put a card next to the GT, PRO, or XT anyway, you would be blocking airflow and causing resource sharing problems in windows.
