So I just bought a new video card:

http://canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=025867&cid=VDC.243.272

which has 2 6 pin connectors that it needs for power. I was told that this power supply had enough wattage to feed the video card my Q6600 CPU and 2 hard drives. This is the power supply i bought:

http://canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=016235&cid=PSU.731

But I noticed that the power supply does not have 2 6 pin connectors for the video card. Only has 1 6pin and a 4pin. Do I need a new PSU, or is there something I can do such buy a converter or something else.

Thanks

Do I have to worry about wattage? I do have 2-3 case fans as well.

I don't think it'll be a problem. I myself run a Antec BP550 550watt without any troubles, and thats with 6 fans (7 including the HSF, soon to be 8), a 4870, hard drive and DVDROM.

You can use this tool (http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp) as a guide to rougly determine how much power your system will need. Keep in mind these aren't full proof, but they're a good reference.

It shouldn't be a big deal, as the power supply should be able to handle it. Also both of the MSI cards I have bought in the past came with a dual molex to 6 pin adapter so you might be in luck there, if not you can buy one for pretty cheap.

Best regards with the upgrade or build.
