hello,

im feeling a bit down :( as i have just received a tagan 380 psu, foolishly i assumed that the power connector would be the same as the 480 (24pin) it isnt !

the problem is - my new mobo (Asus p5gd1) is a 24 pin board.

this is word for word directly from the manual :

****************
It is recommended that you use an ATX 12 V Specificatoin 2.0-complaint power supply unit (PSU) with a minimum of 300 W power rating. this PSU type has 24-pin and 4-pin power plugs.

if you intent to use a PSU with 20-pin and 4-pin power plugs, make sure that the 20-pin power plug can provide atleast 15A on +12V and that the PSU has a minimum power rating of 300 W. The System may become unstable or may not boot up if the power is inadequate.

*******************

the tagans power rating is 22A +12V. is it possible for me to use this power supply with my motherboard ? i paid £60 for this PSU and it would be a pain in the arse to get a new one (ive waited 3 days for this one to be delivered)

if anyone has a sure answer it would be greatly appreciated !!!

I have descided that i will return the power supply and get a new one. can anyone recommend me one that will *instantly* work with the Asus p5gd1.
