power connector for x800Pro

Does the Sapphire x800Pro require a special power adapter or can I use the power adapter for a floppy drive there? I can't tell for certain from the pics and the rep at newegg had no idea what I was talking about. I want to get this refurb model but they claim it comes with nothing but the card. I was wondering if anyone has installed this before and if so if it is necessary that I have the adapter from Sapphire. Thanks

you need that power cord in the picture all the way to the right. It plugs into your power supply on one end and your card on the other.
 
the end that goes to the card, is it just a connector that you could plug into a floppy drive, or is it something prorietary to the card itself? Thanks
 
the connector is LIKE your floppy... but not.. its the other one that on your Power sipply... the ones that you plug into your Hard drive.. its as simple as that.. just use the ones you go... no need for extra connectors
 
Geez, I must be missing something, cause none of my HDD's have 6 pin connectors on them like that video card has !
The small yellow one has something to do withg ViVo.
 
Its an adapter, and it needs 2 HDD (4 pin molex leads) plugs to adapt into 1 PCI-E (6pin) plug. Some newer PSU's have the 6pin, many need the adapter. But you didn't miss anything, your HDD's don't use that plug.
 
oh i breafly looked at it didnt see it was PCIe.. yeah thats the PCIe power plug.. i would have to say you would need a adapter.. or a power supply with that plugin... or you could just buy a retail card im sure it will come with a adapter for older PSUs

btw.. nice shipping price on that card!
 
wow, 196 bucks plus 1 dollar shipping, this beats any x800XL/6800gt in my book :) yah I know, it's missing 4 pipes, but x800pro's overclocks like mofos!
 
yeah thats a steal... but it would be nice if they included that psu adapter... could releave some stress down the road...
