Bought a used pc on ebay, seller didn't include the pci-e cables (emailed to ask for them, but fear seller probably lost them as it doesn't look like he had a graphics card). I bought this 2x molex to 6 & 6+2 pci-e adapter cord http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XB7PWB6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 to power a pci-e graphics card, but had second thoughts on safety...is a 970 too much for this? It's my understanding that only the yellow wire on the molex connector is a 12v line, so the graphics card would be drawing all its power from those 2 wires(except for what the pci-e port supplies). I also have a 660ti I could use until I get the proper stuff hooked up, or would even that draw too much power?
the psu is a coolermaster 600w (Silent Pro M600) as seen here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...6&cm_re=RS-600-AMBA-D3-_-17-171-036-_-Product
edit: Found what I think are the missing cords on the coolermaster site: http://www.cmstore-usa.com/pci-e-6-...nd-6-pin-modular-connector-cable-oem-package/
Each one is $5, shipping is 10-12 depending on if I get 1 or 2. These would work but are these necessary?
