power button on lcd

I just got my first lcd today ( Samsung 940BX ) and I'm impressed and all set on everything but one thing:

Is the power button on the monitor to be turned off every time I shut down my computer?

When the display is on after the computer is off, there is a moving dialog box ( about analog/digital sources ) on the screen. It gets annoying but, then again, I don't want to regularly press the power button on and off because I'm afraid of wearing out the button over time.

I shut down daily (while at work) for 3.5 years on this samsung and I think the panel will burnout before the power switch goes Unsure what the manufacturers recomend, but think u have no worries powering down.
