Hey everybody! My current set-up includes a:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128412
Memory: G.SKILL F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231275&Tpk=F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM
I have been watching the price of
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231311
drop repeatedly, and at the low price of $40 and free shipping, I'm finally caving. However, most of the tech purchases i make are usually run through my brother; he's sort of a bit more of a techie than i am. What i thought at first was just a simple addition to my RAM, was made out to be a very complicated process.
His bias against ever needing 12gb of RAM aside, he's made me paranoid in what used to be a simple purchase. He mentions the differences in timing, and cas latency and such. And I've done a wee bit of my own research and I've found that some of these boards may need a certain order when fitted (specific ones need to be in the primary slots / secondary slots, etc.). The sale ends the 7th, so if possible, please soothe my nerves (or aggravate them) by giving me some details regarding whether or not i should purchase this. Thank you very much.
Further system statistics upon request.
