That's what it was! I spent like 10 minutes trying to put my finger on where I'd seen that color scheme. Go me. :D

BTW, what is that dark blue, almost purple thing in the lower left-hand corner of the image? A scale? A laptop?

jacuzz1, those are two sick screens you've got there. We used to have a 213T at work and it was amazing. I might find it hard to justify picking two of those puppies up in MY situation.....but props to you for showing us what a dually setup should REALLY look like. ;)

Yes they are amazing and very good gamers as well. I am over 40 so maybe its my old eyes but I have not seen ghosting except when drinking and scrolling these threads lol

:p

PS: DVI makes all the difference. If I do keep both a dual dvi card is a must. Text is noticeably blurry on the vga input and everything is ultra sharp with DVI.

Its my Sony LAppy

hey jacuzz would you be interested in $70 and a lifetime of even more gratitude in trade for the silver one? Course I owe half my rig to you so don't be too pressured into anything.:p

edit: after staring at your room in a daze for the last 10 minutes I noticed the only think lacking for you to have a totally kick ass setup is a decent mousepad. Pick up a func or ratpadz and never go back. Trust me, it makes a difference!

also, what model Vio is that?

Dude that pad is the bomb and in my prime i was top 20 in the world for Quake.........I will never give it up

All kidding aside I its my surfing pad. If you look very very close on top of my tower tucked in the back is a logitec optical hand neutural with a glass surface and mouse bungie .it rocks for gaming. I am left handed when gaming

The Sony is a PCG GR300 1 ghz and the white linux box is an old 300 mhz P2

I also have a P3 600 , a p3 1ghz and tow amd 233's but they are not in this room

dayum u got all the bases covered. Even dual mousepads! I gotta pick myself up an lcd or two. Thats the only thing I'm missing for a wicked nice room. But the damn Deathstars ate up my cash, and that pc power and cooling was too much to pass up....and ohhh the gig of bh5 on the way and the 74 gig raptor I should be able to get within a month and the lian li pc75 and....sigh....I'll stop now.

I think we should form technology addicts anonymous. I can see it now:

Hello my name is computerpro3 and I'm a technology addict.

BTW I might have a line on a 17in Sony, same model as your old monitor I think...I may get it for really cheap from a rich friend whos daddy just brought him home dual 21inch versions of it:rolleyes:.

there are worse habits in life stick with computers, its one habit that can make you money if you play your cards right. I rarely have to fully pay for my upgrades as you know...its all about who you know , who you can help and establishing an network of people who want to upgrade as often as you do and so every body benifits form incrimental upgrading and the subsequent reduced cost of ownership........ good luck on the Sony dude

This is EXACTLY what I was going to say, as I feel that I'd have to be up front and center in your little addict group. ;)

It's stick how much money I've saved my friends over the past two years, but it helps make it worth it.

I'm not really a technology-addict, but I would be if my finances allowed. :D

ahh well that picture is older then i thought, i will post an updated one later that one will still make people go

Don't we have a "2004 POST YOUR WORKSTATION" thread or did we just abandon it for this one?

Whatever the case here's mine:

This is my workstation:

This is my 2 Player Arcade Panel I made my self using real arcade joysticks and pushbuttons, plexiglass and the whole nine yards, which works for my PSX, PS2 and for my computer for my Mame Roms (have plans on making it Dreamcast compatible as well):
mycomp_05.jpg

More pics on both my rig and arcade panel as well as full detailed specs of my rig can be found at my site here:
http://www.wclegacy.com/pirateface/myrig.htm

Some or the highlighted specs of my rig are in my signature. I'm also in the process of getting another Arcade Control Panel built later this summer, it's gonna be sleeker, and made especially for Mame32 for my computer, mainly for my Street Fighter games ;)

Also picking up a few upgrades on my rig, will be getting an ATI X800XT PE, the Black Plextor 712A DVDRW, and 2x Wester Digital 250GB SATA HDs. I love working at ICCT in Toronto, I get wicked near cost prices (it's so good to be assistant store manager).

well thats odd I'm not able to edit my old post. anyways heres some pictures i just took.

Seems like you only use two of the 5 speakers. That is like me, I only use two of the four speakers for my 560s. I use headphones for games and the two speakers are good enough for music or streaming radio. I used to use all four but the wires were just a pain in the ass so I stopped using the rears.

xmetal 2001: didnt see that. ya i would get new speakers because if you game its good to be able to hear foot steps (counter strike). there are logitech z 640 that are great and not really that expensive. if your have the money you could go with the logitech z 680

looks about right where a cpu burnt or a powersupply blew...maybe. Thats my asumtion

Ack....Seems forums "updates" always hit us... All posts from earlier than Jan 1 2k4 are gone. :( Guess everyone that posted their pics prior to that need to repost. Guess now's a good time for me to clean everything up and re-post. (Once my PSU comes back for repair.. Its nice having a 5 year warranty! :)

Thrice poster!! you rock. :)

its been reconfigured so many damn times... note the holes, there used to be a whole nother shelving unit that held a printer :D

what you could do to make it more confrotable would be to add a keyboard table. easy to make just take one of those peices of wood laying there and add some rollers on it and maybe a small 4 inch by 18 inch (or how ever long the wood is) and put it underneath so it fits perfect. just a suggestion. but ya i like it because the monitor fits back.

also whats that light thing it almost looks like a plasma light. the refection?
(above the monitor on the right)

That's just my digital camera going crazy, catching a weird reflection off whats on the wall there, out of frame... its an X-Wing Collector's CD-ROM holographic box art :D

inquisition, what TV tuner do you use? Because it "looks" like you have very good resolution.

Im looking for a good one for college. How does your's work?

~Thanks

ah, well i just use the Ati Tv wonder VE PCI.. works well, the resolution is a bit grainy, but it does its job its very very watchable...

there are apparently software options to clean it up but for some reason ive only gotten to it once in the time i have had it
