That's a great tip, it much better on a rug. Rolling away from your computer is annoying...
I used to have a mat for my chair, it just wore out and I have yet to replace it. I was looking at area rugs I just haven't found one that I like.

Here's an updated picture of my current setup.

Hi. I was thinking about getting this monitor. I know it is a TN panel, do you have any complains about this monitor screen quality?

Here is my completed workstation. I finished my new build last week, so I figured it was time to post a pic here showing everything together.

Just picked up a Dell U3011, to use as my main display. Using a Dell 2007FP on each side rotated in portrait for a total resolution of 4,960 x 1,600. Also using a LED strip on the back of the 30in (powered by a USB connection) to give off some ambient lighting for late night gaming sessions with the rest of the lights off in the home office. Currently have a piece of blue film over the LEDs to give off a blue glow.

I purchased the desk while in college, and it has been with me through a few moves since then. Its a Southampton Right Desk and Return, with accompanying Hutch.
To check out the build log to the PC on the right, hit up the following link.

Hello everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster. Thought I'd contribute to the thread with my setup:

I am a fan of the occult/paranormal, and that's reflected in my room

Secondary station

Overall room

Gaming mode

"Hyper Internet" mode :p

I am from Jordan, but i work in Oman (both are countries in the middle east). There is absolutely nowhere to get any PCs/High tech supplies from here, so my only options are to travel by car to Emirates(around 800 Km by car), or order stuff online, witch costs a small fortune in shipping. I had to haul my Ikea tables from Dubai with my tiny Toyota, traveling through 2 borders and a non-stop 8 hours drive. To make matters even more difficult, my salary, while quite good by the local standards, is very low by USA standards. i got everything i have by hard work, patience and a lot of self control (which can be really hard to do ;P)

you have a really nice setup. i particularly love the art work lighting. as for self control, if i didn't have it i'd spend all of my money on gear. :D

In my humble opinion everyone needs a map with points connected with colored string. Makes you look either professional or crazy.

Sweet setup and room! What are the pages from?
They're from a book called The Necronomicon, made famous by the writing of H.P. Lovecraft, a writer i really like (Just google Cthulhu). I got the pages off the internet, printed them and processed them with coffee to make them look old.

cyber what is the map on the wall?
It's the map of Silent Hill (famous Horror game). got it from the internet and printed it on a plotter we have at work.

In my humble opinion everyone needs a map with points connected with colored string.
Of course they do. i still don't understand why doesn't everyone have a map like that in their den. such a strange world we live in...

Amazing set up mate, you should be proud, working and saving hard is very rewarding.

Over the past couple weeks I've been re-doing the home office.

A few more things to do, paint over the blue (just not decided on the colour), cable management, wall mount the tv & new curtains.

Pretty good stuff man only thing I think i could say about it is everything is nice and dark except that tv stand. Get matched up with the dark theme and it would be perfect.

I've just noticed that a large majority of people who have contributed here have tidied up and cable managed their DVI, USB, Power cables etc... my setup look's like some ghetto den.
