Awesome :)

Im a Sophomore EE right now (at Texas Tech), probably gonna try for an internship in the next year or two (I dont think next summer will work, gotta do some classes, but maybe fall 07?). Any pointers? :p

Internship's are definitely your fit in the door, that's how I got in. Try to be well rounded and personable, if you suck at communication and are hard to work with there's no chance for you.

My stock price comment aside :D, this is REALLY accurate. I'll tell you this... it's not so much about what you know but who you know. It's sad... but that's the way any business is. Now... if you can't do the job when you get there you won't last long, but just get your foot in the door any way you can and start making contacts. Also... look for contract positions as well as internships. They are a great way to make contacts while giving you some experience as well.

QFT, SO MANY people fail to realize how political ANY job is. Just imagine your job is "Survivor"..... YES, I said "Survivor" the TV show. There will be alliances (cliques), people voted off (fired), etc..!!!

Your job / career, etc.... the rest of your life, will be based much upon the APPEARANCE of how well you do your job (not necessarily actualy performance!) IE: perception, how much your boss likes you, and how good of a team player / communicator you are!
