I'm trying to gather some information so I can get a general idea if it would be worth it for me to upgrade my current CPU (see sig) to one of the dual core chips.

so I figured I would start this thread so I could ask you peeps to post your PCMark 2005 scores and compare each others' results. I havent really been too impressed with the initial PCMark 2005 scores so I am hoping that someone will come in here and stomp my 5932 score and convince me that the dual core chips are all that much better than what I have now.

please post your PCMark 2005 (only) scores.

4950 with the XPS in sig. Beat you in the HDD-related tests though :) btw are you running at 4.2 or 4.5 GHz?

Satisfied with my P4 hyperthreading systems for the time being, won'¨t upgrade to dual-core yet. Next upgrade will be a new laptop with a Pentium M (for my job).

I'm running @ 4.2GHz.

I dont know why some benchmark tests show my CPU's speed at 4.5GHz when it clearly isnt.

I think it may have something to do with me changing the multiplier in my motherboard's BIOS. who knows...

congrats on the P5WD2 purchase. its one heck of a motherboard and some. ;)

Mine gets through PCMark05, but then it says that my results are invalid since one of the tests can't be run.

Gigabyte DS3 board
C2D E6400
X1900 GT
1Gig Corsair XMS2 PC6400
Windows XP SP2

Do I have to install the Microsoft Decoder 9 program or something?

running mine now, and it should be a good thing to bring this thread back alive again:D
