Well, let's see what everybody is playing (I know most people's games folder is your desktop so basically whatever you have where all your games reside). Maybe it'll give others an idea of new games to try out. Note Trilby's Notes and 7 Days a Skeptic, parts 2 and 3 of Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's (of Zero Punctuation fame) Chzo Mythos adventure game series.

Personally I feel there is a severe drought in PC gaming, I've played everything in this folder to death and I am bored as heck. The only thing that is justifying my 8800GT is that I can use some insane mods on Oblivion which has near endless play value but sadly there's nothing on the horizon that I'm looking forward to. There's no more variety. I want a decent space sim, an adventure game, I want an adventure comedy game, I want a game that really takes me to new worlds instead of marooning me on earth...There's not much variety in PC gaming anymore. It's quite depressing when you goto the reviews or previews for PC at IGN or Gamespot.

yay for Ur-Quan Masters. I already see you have good taste in games. What are Star Sonata, Doomsday Engine, and Dark Crusade?

Doomsday engine is a new engine for Doom. Dark Crusade is Warhammer 40k, and Star Sonata is some weird space game I found, lol

My games are scattered around my OS so I will post a list of installed games:

STALKER
Crysis Demo (I love the editor)
Bioshock
World In Conflict
The Witcher
CoD4

Only fairly recent PC games I have are STALKER and Guitar Hero 3, only ones that will run on my laptop (with its uber powerful GMA950).

Here's mine, fairly depressing, as I don't play 2142 anymore it's too damn boring. I have STALKER but it's not installed ATM.

My list is too long to post as I don't install them to one central place. I have well over 80 games installed in XP. About another 20 or so on a Win98 box and just a few in Vista. I don't play most of them though, they are just installed so I can play them if I want to. These days I am playing mostly racing sims like GTR2, GT Legends, rFactor, Race07 and LiveFor Speed. Just bougth LFS S2 license a few days ago and am in the process of skinning my own car before I play it online. Also still playing BF2, Oblivion, Stalker, Medieval Total War II, Fritz Chess, COH, The Witcher, Space EmpiresV, Red Orchestra, LOMAC, Pacific Fighters, Silent Hunter IV, UFO: Extraterrestrials, Forge of Freedom, Carriers at War, and quite a few others. Might get Crysis or COD4 next but I am in no rush as I have plenty of games that I have not finished yet. Some games I have I bought years ago and only played them for an hour or two and have never touched them since. I'll get around to them one day though. My problem is I can't just concentrate on any one game for too long and am soon off paying something else before I finish the game I was playing. The problem with that is you never become a master of any one game but I like to spice it up and get bored when I play just one game for too long.

No "My Games" folder since I'm happy with XP :)

Here's what's in my Games toolbar:

Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
Team Fortress 2
Counter-Strike: Source
Portal
Half-Life 2 plus Episodes 1 and 2
Supreme Commander

I just rebuilt my system so I'm just loading games as I get the whim to play them.

Bioshock
Witcher
Kane & Lynch (not as bad as everyone says it is)
Prince of Persia (in anticipation of assassins creed)
NFS Prostreet
CoD4
TF2
Portals
Sim Cities Societies (wasnt very societal)
STARCRAFT/BROODWARS (hello there SC2)
Sam & Max - S2 EP1&2

I don't have many games installed right now because all I have is my laptop. I am a senior at Florida State University so I don't have much time to game. I only have a few on my laptop which I don't really play atm. Kinda pathetic. I would game more but I can't really afford any. The only gaming I do is Wii sports.

Thats essentially what my desktop looks like. I miss the days when I could game for hours without having to worry about life. Someday maybe after grad school.

You'll notice I have no start button on my task bar lol, I have yet to skin it. Also, the menus at the top disappear when you click on their title
Also it normally looks a lot better, stupid jpg compression

Anyone know how to remove the clock from the windows task bar?

I don't have too much installed at the moment:

Call of Duty 4
Bioshock
Oblivion
Star Wars KotOR 2
A Tale of Two Kingdoms (awesome, although I haven't dug too much into it yet)

Steam
Half Life 2 w/ Episodes 1 & 2
Portal
Dark Messiah
Team Fortress 2

Stalker (Which I am totally fed up with)
TF2
Portal
Defcon
CS:S
Gears of War
Cod4 (Steam)
UT3
SC Double Agent
Sin Episodes
C&C First Decade
The Witcher
GH3
Crysis
Half Life
R6 Vegas
Raven Sheild
DOD: S
Bioshock
Fear Combat
DOW Soulstorm Demo

I don't really play many of those regularly. The just sit there mostly.

It's too bad we can't setup some kind of [H]ardOCP (or otherwise) game sharing system considering the amount of stuff we have and a lot we don't play anymore.

I'm using Rocketdock AND Object Dock, thinking about putting up windows vista side bar for the left or right, just to add some other useful gadgets. Right now the task bar is on auto hide at the top.

Games include: Titan Quest + Immortal Throne (like that Diablo-clone a lot)
Neverwinter Nights 2 + Mask of the Betrayer (haven't played much yet)
Orange Box w/Steam
Guild Wars + Eye of the North
Rappelz (for my online questing)
Mythos, (public beta testing)
Crysis (I'm likin that FPS)
Dungeon Siege II + Broken World

Still have to install:
World of Warcraft actually have RL people to play with!
Oblivion (never "played" much, just screwed around most of the time!)

Haven't been playing much but Crysis with the new rig, lost my old saves for NWN and DSII, and for some reason, I played a good four hours or so on Crysis, and it "lost" my saves. I can find them, but the game won't recognize them...DAMN. >:-[

I'm so sorry for all of you that use Steam for all of your games. I just got the Orange Box, and I only installed Steam because I had to. I hate that steaming pile of stuff they call software...

I have the Orange Box, C&C 3, Oblivion, Stalker, and CoD4 as my main games now...as far as others, there are too many to count, but not all of them are installed at the moment.

I rather like Steam. I buy my Valve games off the shelf so that I can have a disk, but it was quite nice when I rebuilt to be able to install one app that would download and update all my games without me having to spend half a day swapping CDs.

That's true, I just don't like the fact that steam installs a "service" that can't be turned off without preventing Steam from working at all. I don't like that it pops up "Update News" every time I turn it on, and I really dislike the fact that, even on my machine, it takes 10-15 seconds sometimes for Steam to initialize. No, I won't put it in my Startup folder. I want my computer to boot fast. It just seems bloated to me.

It has its conveniences, but for what I use it for, I find it a huge disadvantage...

I'm not sorry for myself, so there's no reason for you to be sorry for me. I've been using Steam since HL2 came out and I've got no complaints about it at all. In fact, I like it quite a bit.

However, I don't play much multiplayer, and apparently that's where a lot of the issues with it are.

I've been using Steam pretty much since it came out. I can remember when it sucked horribly, but those days are nearly a decade behind us. These days it's one of the easiest gaming experience I can have; the games don't crash, the multiplayer interface is great, and the built-in community features make it easy to communicate with my buddies and get into a game together.

On my new rig:
Crysis
Command and Conquer 3
Oblivion/Shivering Isles
Star Trek Legacy
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

My old rig:
Ghost Recon/Desert Seige/Island Thunder
R6: Covert Ops
R6: Rogue Spear/Urban Ops/Black Thorn
R6 3: Raven Shield/Athena Sword
R6: Vegas
HL2
Far Cry
LOMAC
Xwing Alliance
Monkey Island 1-4

I have one of those splitters so I can hit "scroll lock" and toggle between machines.

That service *is* Steam. It wants to function like your typical IM client, staying minimized in your system tray. I leave Steam running 24/7 as it has absolutely no perceptible impact on my system's performance...which has the added benefit of eliminating that Update News (they really should let you turn that off).

If you play multiplayer enough to pick up a few buddies you like to regularly play with, the community features are worth keeping it up and running.

lol singles is awesome.
the anal sex mod was a laf

Here is my Games folder in Vista Home Premium. It only shows a few of them though.

Here's my Desktop. I use RocketDock on the left side to keep my shortcuts from cluttering my desktop. All my game shortcuts are on the bottom half.
My Installed games on my notebook are:

Steam (Orange Box, CS, etc)
Bioshock
Company of Heroes
Guitar Hero 3
Crysis
STALKER
UT2004
Oblivion + KotN + SI + Mods
Diablo II + LOD
Spiderman 3
Fallout (it's the face at the bottom of Rocketdock. For some reason Vista won't let me keep the Vault Boy shortcut and turns it into that weird guy.)

I'm low on disk space so as soon as I beat Bioshock (maybe Crysis too) I'm going to delete them and get COD4.

Does anyone know how to add installed games to Games Explorrer so that they all show up?

lol All i have is Counterstrike: Source and Wow. not worth posting a SS for those two..

You guys have a game folder?!? I have a game drive. and no i'm not showing it because it's not on this computer... :D
