In particular I wanna see some pics of people taking over one of your mates poor parents' house, but anything fun will be acceptible. here's two of mine from the Chrissy break.

This was a mate of mine, who always escalates a "3 person LAN" to about 10 people in 2 rooms and heaps of beer. always get pretty messy. His parents just turn a blind eye and be quiet.

lol I am so glad for this little house we have back behind the main house. This was a lan I held about 2 weeks ago, had 6 people attend it. Anyway here are the pics, and there are plenty more on my site:

Our lan parties are much bigger now, but here's one a pic from a lan a few years ago I always liked.

I wish I could host some lan parties at my house the only thing all my friends play completely different games and can't afford most games/
 
SarverSystems- in the first pic you showed of page two... the computer up there with a lil fan thing on the top...what is it made of?
 
I dunno, it's not my computer.

I think there are some cases out there that have it built-in.

how do you get sponsors from places like newegg, xoxide, etc?

do you just call them up, tell them about some party and they send you stuff to raffle off like that?
 
It's not quite that easy for the bigger sponsors.

Some sponsors are easier than others though. It all depends on how prominent they want to be in the community.

For example:

ATI: Has an online form to fill out, the form is VERY detialed, even wanting to know how many systems have ATI cards. We fill the form out every other month, and have yet to get them to send anything.

nVidia: Has an online form, just the basics, and they send stuff almost every time.

Newegg: requires an account with sufficient activity, lots of references, and is easier to just call them up.

Shuttle: Requires each LAN to have X number of guests.

Ideazon: Has an online form, requires a logo to be displayed on the website, etc...

Each sponsor is different, so pay attention to their requirements. Also, some sponsors will sponsor you multiple times if they see your guests buying stuff from them.

this should be sticky

and there should be a sticky thread about setting up a lan party, from a basic 5 person one, to tips on running your first big 100 person or 500 or 1000 person party.... I am willing to write up some stuff, as I host parties for anywhere from 10-30 friends regularly (yeah yeah I will post mypics soon! :p..you can see a few I have put up on my gallery at http://images.pyrospheric.net )

My buddy runs thegamelan, and wants to make it a lan party hangout, so, if ya want, you can use it as a dedicated place for lan related type of stuff:)
