I'm even running at lower speeds. Unless it's 10.7. I doubt 400mhz from my CPU could make that much difference.

BTW is that water cooled?
 
Are you talking about Kombustor, or Afterburner? Becuase they are different things - Kombustor is just the stress-test utility.

I'm running a TR heat sink on my HD5770. One of these from below. I originally bought them for my HD4770s.

Not sure why your score is so much higher. I barely got the X58 MB and i7-930. Once I figure out the bios I'll see if I can improve the score with 400 mhz increase on CPU.

I'm going to lower my speed of my HD5770 and voltage to your levels to see what happens, I;ll post a screen shot to see how it compares with your system.

Kombuster.

I posted the Afterburner screen shots to show gpu temps during the benchmark. I think the temps are interesting to look at as well.
 
He's got 3k points on you, and running at 100mhz less on the gpu. LOL. That's kinda funny. Try boosting your cpu to 3.2 ghz.
 
I got 43772 points with my sig.... with same exact same setting you have..
 
Didn't realize Kombuster could do benchmarking. Not sure why it used the weird resolution. Interesting that we have almost the same scores, even though you've got CPU and GPU speed on me.

I selected ATI 3d settings to optimal performance and my score picked up. I was unable to get my voltage as low as yours though. Might be the Asus TOP HD5770 bios I am running that has different stock voltage settings.

Here is my score with your clocks but higher voltage as required by my bios.

did one same settings , using google as a host limited to 800x so had to cut it.

i can OC higher ( not stable but gl2 kromburster stable lol) but these settings seem to get the highest krombuster score. it crashes in 2-3 seconds in dx11 mode. for some reason GL 2 i can run at up to 960/2175 i just dont get a higher score. gtx460 that OC to close to 900/2100 are just beasts. i have a galaxy card 1 gig GC, i picked up with the BCB deal.

for shits and giggles im going to run this on my 2 8800GS's after they finish their F@H WU's.. and that is if nvidia's drivers dont go ape shit when i try to enable sli..

will update posts with results. :D

Kombustor maxes out 1 thread in opengl2, so maybe it is a tiny bit cpu limited, in dx9 I get a higher score and less cpu usage.
 
I can't seem to get my second 5870 to do anything. I do get about 100+ more frames running the dual GPU vs single so it's doing something, but AB says it's not doing a thing with Kombustor as far as core percentages. If I play a game/run Vantage, both cores share the duty. (99% on both with Vantage.)

Any ideas why?
 
Looks like the gpus with more shaders score higher.
The GTX 460 shows off why it is the $200 performance leader.
SLI/CFX doesn't appear to affect final scores at all.
This is kinda interesting to look at, but I don't 'play' my kombuster benchmarks so it is fairly meaningless except for a fun comparison.
Let me know once bioware or some other game company starts using kombuster as a game engine and this will become relevant. :D
 
Running in OpenGL 2 mode only used one GPU, but still surprised to see a single 4870 core score so well against the 5770.

If SLI or Crossfire don't work.......run it in full screen. I wish they had included that in the readme. :rolleyes:

hahaha, yeah i need a new video card. im running a 17" crt monitor at 1024x768. all the games i play are butter smooth with the low resolution of this monitor. 60+fps in BC2 with medium/high settings isnt too bad.

i'll be getting a new card and monitor soon.

Go to the directory MSIAB is installed to and find "MSIAfterburner.cfg". Then make sure you change the 0 to a 1 beside:

UnlockVoltageControl = 0

And

EnableUnofficialOverclocking = 0

everything seems to be ok on my other tests, but its weird my kombuster score is so low

MSI and Gigabyte GTX460 1gb in SLI (weird combo i know)

i got about same score window mode, my 3d mark vantage demo expired.

unigine i get:
FPS: 43.1
Scores: 1086
Min FPS: 16.9
Max FPS: 106.7

1280x1024 FS
DX11
4xAA
16xAF
Shaders = High
Tesselation = Normal



i think it is processor influenced more because my score was lower then reviews that used i7's at same settings.
