Post your D5 speed

Hey, I thought it would be fun to post the speed of our Liang D5/MCP655 pumps, for those of you that have them. Post temps if you got em as well.

Mine:
speed: 5
Idle: 28
Load: 38
Ambient: 20

Gear: storm, twinplex x2, 7/16" & 3/8", swifty 120x2 rad w/ 2x 7v yate loons

I run mine on 5. It pumps through Storm on top of a stock-clocked A64-4000+ and a single 120 BIX (with a Vantec Stealth). Don't have temps right here, I'll have to check on that later.

D5 (Swiftech Version) w/ Storm on top of naked 170 CCB1E 0550VPMW 2.9Ghz 1.44v.

Speed: 5
Idle: 32C
Load: 40C (These CCB1E's run HOT)
Ambient: HOT (Texas)

DD-D5 is a bit noisier than my fans at 5, but I'm not comfortable with the temperature gain vs. noise loss when I lower it to 3 (between 3-5C for <3dB). Admittedly, my loop is somewhat restrictive and long, so I'll post an update sometime next week after I complete separating the gpu loop from the cpu/chipsets.

These temperatures are about 2 to 3 degrees higher than with my Panaflo M1A's, but the difference in noise is worth the added heat.

pushing through a bip3 tdx and maze4 gpu w/ t line

cpu is a 130nm thoroughbred A 2000+ 62Watt at 1.65vcore .. idles around 36 and loads at 42 w/ ambient 73F....

I only see a 1C difference between 5 and 1... setting five is significantly louder than 1

setting 1 is undectable by me...

#5 setting on both DangerDen D5s. Storm G5, ThermoChill HE120.3 with 6x Evercool ~80CFM on an Opty 170 at 2.8.

Idle: 29-30C
Load: 37-38C

i'm surprised more people don't run these a tad slower than MAX ... I only see 1C difference between 5 and 1 and the noise delta is VERY noticable..

I'll pay $100 for 1 degree. The #5 pump setting can be thought of as a "free" degree.

These temp are good enough for me right now I guess. Room temp at 20-21c. I may crank up the OC later to see what I'm getting, but I'm a little busy ATM.

Wow, I'm surprised how many run at 5 as well. The only reason I haven't lowered mine is that it's too hard to get to.

I guess you folks would be interested to know that Liang rates it at up to 24V...so if you like 5, you'd love 10!

I run mine at 4. Same flow rate as 5 (within .1 L/M), so why run it at 5?

Also, I can't hear the pump on 4, while I can hear a little whine at 5.

watch someone will try it and will report that he had hose collapsing, leaks from everywhere and hosing blown off barbs

My pump is at 5 and I can't even hear it. My lowest idle temps after turning on the monitor one morning to make sure nothing bad happened(crazy paranoid habit I've developed since starting watercooling to check it out before work) with air conditioning running all night in that room was 20c, and I've seen it idle typically around 23c. I am curious why so many reports of noise coming from the pump at 5, defective units, air bubbles trapped somewhere, bent tubing? I would hope mine is working properly, I see water movement in the res and I'm sure the temps would be insanely higher. I used the neoprene pad that came with the pump on the bottom of it before its placed on the bottom of the case and screwed down, that may be a key item.

Coming from air cooling it's super super quiet.

mine is soft soft soft mounted and i still run it on 1 .. the reason is i'm obssessed w/ silence ... and i only find a 1C temp difference between 1 and 5 and a noticalbe (to my ear) noise difference...

If I recall correctly, the D5 has issues passing 18V or so. It's possible I'm thinking of another pump, however.

May be rated at 24V but, well, that just doesn't happen.

I'd take any board temp w/a grain of salt. I wonder where exactly they place the probes for boards anway. My board will repot 88c at peak dual burn. Just happens to be the capacitors run exactly that at full burn.

Yeah, Overclockers. They find that an Eheim 1250, while providing twice the flow of the 1048, only yields about 25% better temperatures, but lots more heat.
