rig in sig, but the c2d is actually at 3.1ghz right now, anyways auto detect settings. 1680x1050, no aa. All settings medium. 15 fps min 50 fps max, average 25....:( I just got this videocard to lol, oh well bought it for ut3 and hell gate anyways.

When I tried to install by running the executable archive, my X1800GTO jumped out of my computer, put on a hat and walked out the front door. Needless to say, I am posting from my notebook.

On my system (3200+ venice at 2.3 ghz, 3 gigs ram, 7950gt 512mb, full specs in sig) the demo runs pretty good at all medium settings and at 1680x1050. Sadly, no AA, but it still surprised me. I only get slowdowns really when I'm busting apart houses :p Plus even at only medium the game looks awesome!

i run it at very high except shadows is on medium @ 1440x900 and i get avg. 21fps and about 16 low and 31 or so high. and my video card is oced and my cpu is at 3.4!

E6550
8600GT (615/790)
2GB XMS2 RAM
Windows XP

1440x900 naive resolution

All LOW, except for Shader and Water at MEDIUM

FPS between 25 to 40, some forgiving scene could go up to 50fps
But average, it usually stays within 30 to 40 fps

basically I'm satisfied with the quality and performance. Not a good system by any means, so I can't complain.

Running GPU benchmark 1
Results will depend on current system settings
Press any key to continue . . .
Running...
1680x1050 NO AA MED Settings

I just installed and played with the system in my sig. Everything visual on low @ 1280x768. It was very playable on my 5 year old computer. Sorry but I didn't get FPS but I would guess at least 30 and never noticed any stuttering. It looks more like Far Cry and I can live with that for a while till I get a new PC. I remember Far Cry taxing my 9800 back in '04 but I didn't care. The game was great. Graphics aren't everything in a game even though I would love to be able to play on some of your PC's. Just thought I'd throw that out there if anyone else with a really old PC wants to know if they can play.

I'm not happy with the performance at all. When I was running fraps on all very high settings, and medium water, and shadows, +2xAA at 1280x1024, I got the game to run at around 22fps. Damn shame... my computer's only a month old.

8800's are a year old. While I can understand what you mean, it's been like that for a while now. They developed Far Cry the same way, to "future proof" it. Same thing with Doom 3 and so forth. It's not the cards fault it came out when it did. If the 8800 was 2x more powerful than it currently is the devs would have future proofed it accordingly.

I got 10 to 20 FPS at 1600x1200, no AA, no AF, all details on low on the system in my sig.

With medium settings the game runs pretty good. its very playable with a couple slow downs with the big explosions. with high or very high settings, everything looks fantastic, but its as i'm playing with a strobe light turned on:( slideshow ftl
