I know this is in the cases section, but it seemed like the best place for some mods.
I posted this stuff over in the ghetto mods section but it was determined that it wasn't ghetto enough for them. Someone suggested creating a thread for interesting, non-ghetto mods, and so here we are. Post em if you've got em.
I'll start with this -
Alright so I have 2 here,
I needed a way to switch between 2 audio sources, and I thought it'd be nice to have some volume control too since one of them was the xbox. I came up with this. The housing is actually milled out of an old PIII heatsink, and the audio jacks are de-soldered from an old soundcard. I did have to buy the pot and the switch for this though. It still works perfectly, but I don't really have a use for it anymore.
So my room kept getting wayyyy too hot (tiny apt room in NY, and I'm from WA) since my graphics card put out prodigious amounts of heat. My solution was to make a cardboard box that would fit over the back of the computer, and pull all of the heat out to be exhausted outside. I have to say it worked beautifully, and painted black it didnt look too ridiculous either. I used some tubing from an old AC unit to vent the air outside.
