Post Your College Setups!!!

It's hard to clean up the wires in those Antec Sohos.

I still can't manage to get mine looking decent. There are wires everywhere...

if you get one of the antec sohos with the raised motherboard tray its easy, all you have to do is tuck the slack behind it

Wow, you guys have it great. My college setup was a PC's Limited 286/12 with a meg of memory and a 30 meg hard drive. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to share.

Crappy Camera. More pics of my room, and tons of my monitor, all crap also, availible at http://www.uccs.edu/~thoward. I must say, the UCCS dorms/apartments are beautiful. If only they included some sort of light in the rooms. That's right, there is NO light source in my room apart from my monitors and various LEDs.

*Bows down* You are The King Of Lazy.
All hail Andar!

Yeah, gonna bump this one finally. Well, my college setup is the same as my room, as I am living at home while going to school (somewhat cheaper.)

I just bought this 20' tv and the Logitech Z 640's from a local pawn shop (on a tight budget). I have both of them hooked upt o my computer, so I just pop a dvd in my pc and watch it on that, and listen to my music on it.

My futon. The dolphin blanket was a thing my little sister made and left in my room. I thought it looked cool on the futon, so I kept it there. Notice the satellite speakers. 5.1!

My DVD, CD, and PC Game collection, along with trophies and other stuff.

My computer setup, complete with my brand new laptop. Still looking for a permanent solution for the laptop. It is not too stable on that tiny little desk, and is in danger of being kicked over while I sleep.

The bed that I am too big for. The walls are a little bare (and concrete.) I will spruce it up a bit this summer. I have a lot of stuff that could go

There was a thread in here for posting your ghetto mod. This is my ghetto room. It is unfurnished, with conrete floor, walls, water pipes, air vents, and complete with a sump pump (I pray to God that never floods or bursts)

What you doing? Staying in the actual basement of your college? Give a whole new meaning to college setup. :)

looks like some nuclear-proof underground bunker to me.

Dude, wtf! I would never accept that... Wiring and waterlines... damn hazard you live in man! Not even concrete walls?

yeah, they look like pa speakers like the ones DJ's use for events. i am guessing he does some DJ work since he has the turntable etc.

as far as doing DJ work.. not quite.. more like an audiophile looking to create a spectacular *cheap* soundsystem with top of the line parts. go figure, i'm still trying to figure this one out.

the system is made up of this:

Denon AVR-1905 7.1 surround sound A/V receiver which has video up conversion
Stanton STR8-80x turntable with direct drive and some Stanton needle that is considered the best for DJ scratching (i just clicked buy, didn't really care about it)
2x Peavey TLS5's 15" sub/midrange and horn tweeter
10" MKIII PA sub (can't see it in the pics, its behind my bed) w/ a 250 watt sub amp (stuff in my house rattles because of it)
2 blookshelf Aiwa speakers from my old stereo
5 satelites from my old cambridge soundworks setup.

i also have a 2500 audio cd collection and i'm looking to add some 1500 vinyls to that come xmas time.

Umm yeah...I've definitly seen that exact same picture elswehere, except it was about two years ago.

Nice try though.

Even though it seems there aren't concrete walls, there are three of them. I don't mind the sump-pump, as long as it doesn't flood. Understand I live on an Air Force base, and base housing is notorious for this kinda thing. This was originally designed as a work room, but I use it as my bedroom because its pretty big. It doesn't allow natural light in, which lets me sleep in pretty late, especially since I do overnights shifts.

Actually, one small caveat: He's using Jon Stewart's "America" book as a mouse pad. That book came out in 2004, so the picture is fairly current. And I don't think someone would steal a picture and photoshop in a recent book in as a mouse pad...

Also, grabbed some strings out of the image, got

I have some 15" PA speakers too... JBL SF15's... but I use them for my band.

I'll post my "college" setup once I move into my apartment July 1st :)
