"So I got drunk, and I went into the parlor and said "Give me a picture of that cow on the cheese 'cuz I love that cheese. Give me that cow on that cheese". See this? That's right it's the bannana lady from the bannanas. I get drunk one night, and now my body looks like a grocery store. Dont get a tattoo. Play soccer."

Coach Mcguirk is so wise.

They're worth the money, though i'm probably going to replace them soon, I've had them for years.

Well the only reason is because I have a teacher that said if I take the speakers apart that you have cause she has a pair for her class to take apart, but she said if I take them apart and show her everything then she will give them to me for free.

what receiver do you have for those speakers
?

The speakers are coming out of a Sony CMT-CP100, which I have hooked up to my audigy. Nothing too fancy, but my headphone amp comes next week!

1. i go to cornell university, and im showing off my school pride. i guess. haha! the cup is the only cornell merchandise i have other than a pair of windpants.
2. those are sony speakers, not polk, but they still sound great.
3. they are grado sr60's, soon to be driven by a cmoy amp. i'll post pics when it comes next week.

Not in college yet, but any comments in general about the use of subwoofers and loud music in general? I want to build at 10" Dayton Titanic MKIII 350watt kit sub, or maybe I could settle for the cheaper 10" dayton 100watt finished sub.

Oh, and I remember I saw a pic of Rocket ELS in one of the nice wood finishes, anybody care to link or repost that pic? Thanks

which sony models? id love to get a couple of those :D

and how are they powered/hooked up?

they actually look fancier than they actually are. i have a 1/8 inch - RCA adapter going from my audigy to a Sony CMT-CP100. The speakers came with the stereo but I took off the speaker grills to get a more transparent sound. the stereo is not in the picture but instead sits on my bookshelf. i bought some monster cable CL3 rated speaker cables to hook the speakers up. they are 30x2 watts = 60 watts total, more than enough for my tiny apartment bedroom.

now i am just waiting for my denon receiver :( (damn ups, ordered speakers a day later and got then friday, the receiver was ordered the day before speakers and wont be here till monday)

they will be getting about 100 watts rms each. hope they can hold up

I have the 2.1 set of those speakers. They're decent sounding. The only things I don't like is that the mid-bass is somewhat overbearing and there is no bass level control. Plus the low bass is non-existant since it's like a 4" sub. I think the drivers up top sound better than my Z-640s though.

In residence how do some of you guys run multiple computers? Wireless Router? ICS?

I'm going to Laurier this coming fall (woowoo  ) and I wanted to know how you did it. I plan on takign my Shuttle and a Powerbook that I'll be buying in the spring.

just bring a hub/switch. plug it into the wall and let the schools dhcp server do the rest.

A lot of colleges won't allow individual wireless networks in the dorms, so you may just have to run a hub/switch. But if your college allows it, get the airport express with your mac. It's quite nice. If we were allowed wireless networks, it's what I would use...wink, wink...

at my school if you try to add anything with a built in dhcp server ( like a router, wired or wireless) they instantly shut off your rooms lan connection for 24 hours. it is however possiable to do a wireless network using as long as you disable dhcp on your router/routing pc.

what happens if you plug in a computer with 2 NICs and use it as a small server? They shouldnt be able to tell...or if you clone the mac address of an existing computer on the lan.

thats what i did for a while to hook up my xbox so i could play live
