I have a 2600+ running at 2.3GHz....2Volts......memory running at 400MHZ (DDR). I could probably push it further, but my memory is really DDR333, so I'm already pushing it pretty far. What kinds of overclocks are you guys getting? What kind of cooling are you using? I'm using the stock heatsink and fan currently.

I have a barton 2500 locked :( I am scared to oc.. i have DDR400 pc3200 =o i am buying an SLK800 so I can try to OC a bit
 
Barton 2800 (166x12 i think) @ 2.5GHz....I'm pretty much ram limited, got one stick of 2700 and one of 3200....fast enough for me though. Temps are usually around 40C idle, 38C ambient (case) and 50C max on load.
 
See the sig, its as high as it will go more or less, I'm chipset limited some with the older 1.2 version of the NF7-S as it gets flakey round 204fsb, and it gets pretty hot on load when its at 2.5, round 52-53 C which is hot enough for me. Mine is a mobile XP btw.
 
ive had mine at 240x10, stock volts(1.65, though the board overvolts to 1.7). it doesnt need more voltage until i hit 2.5ghz. this is a fully unlocked desktop 3000+ chip on an asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev. 2.0. currently running 220x11 cuase my board didnt like 240fsb all the time. 2-3-3-5 timings. the chip is always at load pumping out F@H, full load at about 46C
 
wow 2v for a 2600+?
to get the 2600+ stable at 200mhz+ fsb you need mad voltage but for 196 its like 1.85 ( my mobo undervolt to 1.825) since i have generic ram my timings arent really good at 400. only 3-4-4-8 is prime stable :( i miss my 2-2-2-6 @ 333
 
Had an Athlon XP 1800+ stable at 2400+ speeds. 333mhz X11.5(mostly ran it at 11 multiplier to keep temps down a lil) as opposed to 266mhz X11.5
 
am i the only experiencing crash within 10 minutes in any source based game with my athlon overclocked? it ran prime95 14 hours straight and i still cant play in css with my oc :/

you sure its not hte video card? my video card overclock made hl2 crash when all other games were running great
 
2400XP-M @ 11X200. I think 1.8v, but my MB undervolts a bit. It will run fine at 2.4, but I have to go up to 1.9v, and it heats up alot. The gain wasn't worth it.
 
had a mobile 2400+ running at 2.12 volts, 2.7 gigahertz, 50c ambient on a vantec tornado. the speed rivals my 3000+ at stock

Again, your FSB is too high, it's not got a locked divider, your AGP speed is too high.
 
Was running my mobile 2500+ @ 2400mhz / 1.65v before I sold it, although the buyer claims he can't get it to work so it's either been killed or i'll have it back and ready to resell

you mean 11.5 x 166 as opposed to 11.5 x 133.

And I'm running at 11 x 218 = 2.4ghz
 
i made same topic a while ago. it was for mobilesbut it turned into both athlon xps and mobiles and some pentiums... oh wells look in my sig, O/Cs are back up again after some stupid problem with ram.
 
well the kv7 use a ratio and when i run it oced its at 6:2:1 (bus/agp/pci)
i tried it at the default ratio and the comp would just not boot hehe.
and i tried without any video card overclock too and i still crashed within 2 secs :/ its really weird cause it can runs prime95 stable during a lot of hours.
 
2500xpm, samsung 512mb pc3200 (stock 2.5-3-3-8). all my ocs, i have the ram at 2.5-3-3-11

my most current oc: 11.5 x 215. 1.625v. (the farthest i can get it ram without having to raise voltage to above 1.650). This is 2.47ghz. (love this cause it scores better than the A64 on everest's mem bench)

most stable oc: 11.5 x 210, 2.4ghz. at 1.600v

highest oc, but too hot to handle: 12 x 210, 2.525 ghz. at 1.725v

you see, my chip loves t3h cool 1.600v. yes it is like 24 hours prime stable at 1.600 and 2.4ghz. but then the major barrier is 2.5 ghz. the lowest v i can use and still get stable 2.5ghz is 1.725. This is also prime stable for 12 hours, on a cool day. on a hot day when gaming, it freezes caues the temp rises to a mofo 52c or something with 1.725v. so now i'm never going past 1.650 again.

I've got my 2400xp-m running at 2490mhz (12x207) at 1.8 volts. I've tried 12.5x200 but I can't get it stable 2500mhz or higher. I'm using a gigabyte 3d heatsink and fan (which I regret getting).
 
non- mobile in the sig. unlocked 2500+ but doesn't seem to like any multi's other than stock.
 
locked barton 2500@ 2370, with ram at around 333, cuz it refuses to run anywhere near 400mhz, even though its corsair xms 3200, at 2.9V also.
I bet I could get higher once temps stable out a bit since I just reseated HSF a day ago.

How does a 2.4(rounded) compare to a 3.2ghz preshot in games, with ram at 333?
Reason I ask, is someone I know has a 3.2ghz preshot, but has a different video card, and I wanna know how it compares.
I know in SSE2 apps it will get spanked, but what about games.
 
o i think ill try with async ram in source games to see if it still crash. i know it isnt a good idea with xp cpu but atleast ill know if the ram is the prob :O. nice oc on your 2000+ btw

Damn man, I run a piece of crap heatsink and fan, and I have a mild (140MHz) o/c on my system. Runs flawless. I understand the need for cooling, but you could at least try it out. I'd be surprised if that Barton didn't hit 2.2GHz. Just take it in 5MHz increments and raise up the voltage a little. If it doesn't boot, reset the CMOS and reboot, add voltage, save and check the temps. :) Have some fun man! You can always reset the CMOS.

Try loosening the timings up a bit. I know mine won't loosen up no matter what voltage I set it at. 2.5-3-3-7 isn't so bad, I don't notice any performance hit running 512mb of ram at 2-3-2-6..OR maybe it's just a dude. I doubt that. It also could be your motherboard.

HSF got caked with dust and because I am extremely lazy, i just downclocked to 2Ghz instead of cleaning the HSF

I got it at 2.0 now :)... 180mhz ram 180 x 11 on CPU.... I mean, why do I raise the voltage when I overclock? is it necessary to raise the voltage to achieve higher speeds?
 
Barton (unlocked; from Aug 2003) @ 2.3 = 200 x 11.5 @ 1.85v, mem 1:1 at the next voltage up from default :p (can't remember)

in some cases, like mine, yes
 
well i just got mine to be p95 stable at 1.625v, 2.8v, 2.5-3-3-11, 11.5x213 (2.45ghz).

oh yeah, and to all nforce 2 users: 2.5-3-3-11 > 2.5-3-3-8. In terms of performance.

not always, a year or so ago I did think that, but I couldn't tell a difference beween them

ditto. 2-2-2-5 really made my system feel snappier however.

Ill see what I can do, but I seriously am pissed that my ram can't do the rated speed.
Considering I bought pc3200 with the intention of running at 3200...

edit- Tried it at cas 3-3-3-11 and no go.
I wish I had some ram to test, to make sure I didn't get a dud mobo.
 
Took a barton 3000+ from 2.17 ghz to 2.405 ghz by upping the FSB to 185 mhz. I'm using an SI-97 to cool it down. It's been stable for a month so far....but I may be getting some HDD corruption. :(
 
My unlocked 2500 cruises at 2.2GHz daily with stock voltage. 2405MHz takes 1.85V though, but load temps are 45C (independant probe).
