?:) me, i use 1600x1200.
seem to me, widescreen is becoming more and more popular daily. i still like the old 4:3. u?

1680x1050 soon to be 1920x1200..

I use to have a CRT that did up to 1600x1200... I intentionally made the switch to widescreen due to its benefit of seeing more to the sides (natural field of view). I must say, I am never going back to fullscreen either... Out with the old, and in with the new.

1920x1200

I use to be 1600x1200 4:3, but I have to admit I like widescreen more overall.

How can anyone read the letters at 1920x1200? Aren't they really small?

On a 17in CRT, what resolution would I have to set for the characters to be equivalent in size to 1920x1200 on a 24in LCD?

There was a poll that was just like this topic a few weeks ago. If you want some numbers, you should search for that resolution poll.

A conclusion I've drawn from past topics of this nature, is that you'll always hear people say they've gone widescreen and will neverrrrr go back. As an owner of a 1680x1050 display and a 1600x1200 display, let me tell you, widescreen isn't that great until 1920x1200 / 1080p. If you could see a 20" 4:3 panel beside a 20" widescreen panel, there's no arguing that the 4:3 panel appears bigger and is, in fact, bigger by measurement.

Like, 1024x768. Maybe 1152x864. The text size is fine, and more easily readable due to LCD's sharpness advantage.

thanks, I can read the text at 1024x768, but I have trouble reading text smaller than that.

1600x1200, can't stand widescreen.

(oh wow, 1680x1050... a whole 80 pixels wider than me!!... but... 150 pixels shorter.. haha..)

do you guys with 1600+ resolutions do you increase font size? i do.

1920x1200 desktop , various resolutions when gaming, Sony FW900 24" Widescreen CRT. (primary monitor used for gaming and movies)

1680x1050 / NEC 20" 20WMGX2 LCD (secondary monitor).

I use 1600x1200 and I increased the font size a little bit on my browser and in Windows. But I still love 1600x1200 its the perfect resolution nice and wide plus its tall.

2048*768 on the workstaion (dual 1024*768 15" LCDs)
1280*1024 on the media machine (17" CRT)
1280*800 on the MacBook
640*480 on the Dreamcast (14" CRT)

If I hadn't been forced to replace my old laptop with the new MacBook, I would've been putting that money towards a new workstation with a triple monitor setup (widescreen in the middle, two current 15" panels on the ends). But that's gonna have to wait till next year now!

1280x1024 home desktop, LG L1920P LCD
1024x768 home lappy, 15" Dell Inspiron 1100

1024x768 at work, Dell 17" LCD

Sucks that we got new computers and monitors. Display properties is restricted, but on the old IBM computers we used, there was a display config. interface in the tray that I could use to set resolution. I don't remember what it was, exactly, but I managed to set it at 1152. I can't do anything on these new Dells though. :(

Would love to set it at 1280x1024, which is what the monitor itself says is optimal.

1920x1200 on the desktop (Dell 2707WFP), 1920x1200 on the work PC (Samsung 244t), 1280x800 on the laptop (15.4" Dell D820).

1600x1200 (Dell 2001fp) Desktop. Soon to be two...
1600x1200 (Sony Multiscan 520GS) Workstation
1024x768 (Acer C314 Tablet)

1600 x 1200....dual input crt.
1440 x 900......wide tft.
1280 x 1024....regular tft.
1024 x 768......notebook.

just moved up from a 20" 1680x1050 to 24" 1920x1200

needed to be able to play those 1080p trailers from apple.com

:)

no for me the move was prompted by my purchase of a 8800

why go all the way in one regard and not the other?
