Well, things are taking a turn for the worst for me..
After attempting to overclock my Pentium 4 here, I ran into the inevitable invisible ceiling of overclocking at 265 FSB. However, when I attempted 270 FSB, it didn't post and I was too lazy to reset the CMOS jumper at 4:30 in the morning, so I went to sleep instead.
I get home from work today and I reset the CMOS and loaded the default settings just to make sure everything was fine and dandy except I booted from my RAID array, which I have always done. Now, it posts okay and it gets to the "Verifying VMI Pool Data....Update Successful", but it freezes there. I'm beginning to get REALLY worried now, since I can't even get to Windows on my default settings.
Luckily, my 3rd hard drive also has Windows XP installed onto it (which I'm using now to type this), and it booted fine into Windows. However, I see another hard disk drive in "My Computer" given the directory F, but when I attempt to view the files, I receive a "The File or Directory is corrupted or unusable". Cue jaw dropping and mad panic. Has my RAID-0 array just taken a crap on me? It certainly appears that way and I don't know if I can possibly repair the OS on it using my Windows XP disk. If so, I'll be extremely thankful. If not, then I have lost over 30 GB's of music, and a combined 220 GB's of other important files. All in all, this looks like it might dissuade me from ever using RAID-0 again.
If anyone has ANY suggestions on how to fix this, please let me know. Thanks.
