Hey guys, I recently ordered a dell inspiron 1420.
I wish to install vista ultimate 64bit on it, however, I want to know if its even possible?

Since, I do not see a 64bit section for Dell's driver download website.

Here's the specs.

The topic is a little vague.. Dell makes *many* Inspirons, and uses the name for both laptops AND desktops.

The T5750 is EMT64 capable, so yes, you can install a 64-bit operating system. Dell's support for this is pretty limited, but if you know your hardware you can try using Google to find drivers. My Inspiron E1705 laptop didn't come with Vista x64 but a little Google search and I I found drivers for everything.

You're wireless card might be the only issue, since it is from Dell. That's why I always try to get Intel wireless cards for all the laptops I buy. Intel probably has drivers for most of the main hardware.

Hope I'm not sounding rude.
But in my original post.
I stated the Model and even posted the specs.
What else do you need?

If your laptop manufacturer has 64-bit drivers available for proprietary hardware and you have a Vista 64 install disk, then yes (for any laptop).
