possible to extend VGA cable using Cat5?

I'm building a custom car computer setup using a 5" LCD screen. I want the PC in the trunk, and the LCD in the dash.

VGA cables are QUITE expensive ... and I have about 500' of Cat5 cable in my closet. I'm curious if it's possible to use Cat5 to exend the vga cable ... or if there is a specific way to wire the pins to better shield the signal.
