I bought a stick of Kingston DDR2100 from a friend to add to my system. I run a 1.4 TBird at 1.6, using a stick of Crucial DDR2100 (CAS of 2.5) with a FSB of 145. After adding the Kingston stick, my system reboots every 20 min or so. Even putting the FSB back to 133, it still reboots with the Kinston in. I went back to my friend to get my money back, but he claims I damaged his stick. He informs me that the Kingston memory has a CAS of 3, and running it at that speed with the Crucial memory damaged it. I think this is BS. What do you guys think?

ya i think that is bs, the really only way to damage ram is to crack the chips or the stick.

Overclocking can also kill, although for all the warnings ive never heard of it happening.

i had an older computer and i basically did the same thing ....same outcome. Luckily it was a junker anyway...

as much as i would say that its bs i dont think it is but then again it could just be a coincidence

if it keep on restarting then it means that it probably overheated. there might be a chance that it died. ???:(
