Possible Purevideo Problem

Is purevideo used in all video programs except quicktime. Because when I play any type video with any program except quicktime the video is much brighter. This is using the 71.84 drivers and the 77.72 drivers.
But when I use the 67.22 drivers the video is normal.
This is on a 6800gt
