What do you think about these specs i might put together:

i7-2600K (8MB Cache)
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz
3GB GDDR5 NVIDIA®GeForce® GTX 590
1TB SATA 3Gb/s (7,200RPM) 32MB Cache

It's for gaming.

Or would it best to go with a different video card?

I've been reading a lot of good things about the GTX 590..

Go for an OC on the CPU for a nice boost, and try to get a HDD with 64MB of cache.

Just don't skimp on the PSU!

You could have a few bucks and get a 2500k.

As far as the GTX 590 goes - I don't believe I would ever spend NEAR as much money as that thing retails for. $730+ is nuts. Just what will you be playing, and at what resolution?

Anything he damn well pleases with that graphics card. :D

i have an lg right now that is i think only 21inch max out res @ 1680 x 1050

but id like to be able to upgrade the montior if i wish and not be stuck by the video card.

Specs are solid, though as noted you could save some money with minimal gaming performance loss by going with a i5 2500K.

As for the video card, the GTX 590 is overkill for your current monitor. If you know you will be upgrading to 1920x1080 or higher then it is okay, if not consider a SLI-capable motherboard and a single card in the GTX 560 - 570 range for now. If you do upgrade the screen, toss a second one in and you are in the GTX 590 performance range :)

lol, you should be using multiple monitors with that graphics card, total overkill. You would be overkill with a GTX570 on that monitor, definitely get an upgrade.

yeah i know a future monitor ugprade for me but figure why not have the pc

Doesn't matter if it were a 50 inch monitor, 1680x1050 is a tiny res by today's standards and a GTX590 is sooo overkill for that.

Why not invest in a decent 1920x1200 or 1080p monitor, then settle for a GTX570 or 580? That would make much more sense.

560ti's sli'ed and get a much better monitor.Thats you best bet and then you will get pretty dang good performance and a better monitor for about what the 590 cost.

Have you considered getting a new 30" monitor at the same time?

i dont think a 30inch monitor can fit on my desk :( the 22 barely fits w/ my speakers and shit. lol

I could definitely fit a 23 inch if their is any good 23's let me know.

Do a price check on a pair of GTX 560 Ti cards in SLI + a new 24" 1920x1080 monitor. That screen will be a better fit with such a nice graphics setup, and I wouldn't be surprised if you could have the two cards and monitor for the same price as a GTX 590. Plus, 24" should still be able to fit on your desk... :)

so how's this sound?

i7-2600K (8MB Cache)
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz
1.5GB Nvidia GTX 580
1TB SATA 3Gb/s (7,200RPM) 32MB Cache

Looks good :) If you end up having any room left in your budget at the end consider a SSD as a main drive (OS + applications) in addition to the hard drive.

what display you think would be good in the 23 to 24 range for like 300 or less?
