Possible GTX 595?

It's one day before April 1st. I don't believe it. You mean to tell me that the Fermi architecture is so scalable that they could add 128 more CUDA cores? Bullshit. GF110 is the biggest Fermi, they aren't going to release a totally new chip for the sake of dualGPU, and if they do, they're idiots. It's a hoax.

Also, look at the fucking power circuitry. You mean to tell me that when 512 CUDA cores on the GTX 580 use 6 phases, that 5 phase DrMOS is going to cut it for 640 of them? We're going to have the 570 and 590 all over again. Hoax.

Someone measure the size of the IHS by scale, that's the surefire way to know if it's real, if it is real it will be significantly larger than the GF110's IHS proportionately.

Tend to agree with Xac, we're 5 months into GF110 with the 590 just launching, really don't expect any more high end parts until Kepler.

Here, let me show you my calculations and reasoning guys, let's make some sense out of this. These are the two pictures I used to get numbers. I measured the PCIe connector and chip sizes with a regular ruler, so there is a slight margin of error.

Fact: The PCI Express connector is universally the same size.

GTX 590:
PCIe connector: 105mm
Chip size: 41mm

105 / 41 = 2.5610

GTX 595:
PCIe connector: 71mm
Chip size: 28mm

71 / 28 = 2.5357

2.5610 / 5.5357 = 1.009977 = ~1.01

By my measuring method the 590's IHS is 1% larger than the 595's IHS, assuming the PCIe connectors are the same size. Including a slight margin of error, we can conclude that the two board's IHS are the same size.

Could the same IHS used for a 512 SP part accommodate a chip with 640 CUDA cores? My answer: No.

I say its a fake article too. First, how can NVIDIA achieve a 2GB on the GF110 core since the memory bus is 320/384? It would have to be 2.5GB or 3GB, or 1.2GB or 1.5GB.\

This article reeks of bullshit, and yeah, its April Fools today.

Probably fake. The AC cooler is a work of photoshop, not very well done either.

Actually, the GF116 (GTX550) has a 192-bit bus, and comes with 1GB
- they do this by having 2 64-bit banks of 1Gb SDRAMs (4 chips), and 1 64-bit bank of 2Gb SDRAMs (2 chips)
- so, the GF116, at least, can mix & match memory chips on it's memory banks
- so, it's not completely impossible for NV to do a 2GB GF110 board

- the 1280 Cores is the killer though
- not likely at this stage!

Could happen but I am not buying it unless they tweak the GTX580 and officially bump the memory up to 3GB.

Even though from the specs alone (seriously 1280 'cores' in only 440W, when 1024 couldn't even cope with 375?), that anyone could see it was a hoax, there are people that have to keep the hope alive that Nvidia will beat AMD this generation. They are HOPING for CHANGE...:D

no there are just gullible people that will repost this crap on every forum..

Hoax or not, nVidia would be stupid to bring to market a card shortly after the GTX 590 was released. Six months down the road, sure. Right now or in a month or two, bad move.

It's obviously an April Fool's prank. Why are we even dissecting this? If the 590 hadn't been such a big flop. Nobody would even talk about a 595. Honestly, it just doesn't profit Nvidia to release a 595. Their 590 is already losing them money and rep what with people returning them left and right.

Be minimally careful today or you might get April fooled.
