Hey,
About 10 minutes ago i ran 3dm2001se a few times, after restarting pc after each benchmark. im getting roughly 12000 - 14000 3dmarks.... now, when i first upgraded this puter (rebuilt with new mo-bo, psu, ram, and cpu.) i was getting like 20,000-23,000 3dmarks. any thoughts of what could be wrong with my system?
Specs:
Gigabyte K8n pro
512mb pc4000 corsair xms pro
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Radeon 9700 Pro
550w Antec truepower
4 80mm fans
1 120mm fan
win xp pro sp1 (sp2 slowed it down even more so i reverted back to sp1)
directx 9.0c
Ati Catalyst 4.11 driver
any help would be great, my oppinion is that my GFX card is dying, kuz i was playing NFSU2 and it completly crashed twice (monitor went black like when puter doesnt post, and on restart it came up with a popup saying "VPU recover." Radeon 9700 pro error ...." cant remember the error code and such.
It hasn't crashed in like a week so im a little confused at this point. any help would be greatly appretiated, or suggestions would be great.
Im thinking i should do a windows repair, or even just reformat my C drive, but ill wait for some oppinions on what i should do before taking any action. though i wont play games for a bit until i know the problem is resolved.
thanks.
