• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Just saw the forum security announcement and got me to thinking about a problem that may arise with my account. I consider my PW to be pretty secure, but remembering that hardforum doesn't allow for the use of gmail accounts, the e-mail that i originally signed up with the hardforum with is long since not in use (4+years)

was wondering A. will i be notified of my forced PW change and B. is the any work around i can make on this?

you can tell i've been using the hardforum for quite a while soooo i don't really wanna start all over =)

You are required to have a working email address that we accept in order to use our forums.
If the account in your profile doesn't work and an [H] mail goes out to it and bounces, you can expect to have your acct curtailed. Simple as that.

school email? actual ISP email? gotta try harder than that. lol

even though i pay for my yahoo account for pop access (portable...makes changing ISPs much less of a hassle since I moved 6 weeks ago and will move again soon into dorms), i used my school email for my account.

bummer.

bye bye hardforum posting i guess =/

You don't need access to your old address in order to change it to a new one. Just go to the E-mail and Password section of your User CP and enter in a new address. It shouldn't be too difficult to get one that the forum will accept (if you can't get one from your ISP, there are a number of mail-forwarding services that aren't blocked).

Was wondering that about the OP myself: he seems to be under the impression that the old email address is the only one he can possibly use.

Just go into your account settings and put in a new email address that's legitimate and acceptable. I mean really, if you're online you've GOT to have an email address that will work for such purposes.

well that's the thing i've moved in with my buddy and i'm not under his internet, but i've got a college e-mail so that'll work (i hope)

3 years of playing WoW has seriously made my geek knowledge falter.

I had been using my school's e-mail since I registered here until today (I just graduated). It'll work.
