I just got my new 7800GTX 512mb eVGA card.

I've had problems running 3dmark05 and had problems with Call of Duty 2 crashing. When 3d mark crashes the pop up says that 3dmark has expierenced problems and needs to close.

Call of duty 2 was free with my GTX. I can play through the very first level but when it gets to the second load point it closes with no pop up windows or anything saying what the problem is. Its like it just dissapears.

I played Battlefield 2 special forces with no problems at all.

You have tried no OC the in games, right? Some are more sensitive to any little error. The 3DMark05 sounds like something is pushed too far.

I was having wierd problems with my XFX 7800 GTX 512 when viewing videos (they would start corrupting after a while with bands of lines that would run down the video). I completely wiped my drive and reinstalled windows with all drivers and the problem appears to be gone.

My previous card was a GTX 256.

Also, sometimes the noisetakers have a problem with high wattage components (I notice we both have the same power supply). Mine seems to be working fine but I do know people whom have had issues with them.

If I may ask, did you do a complete reinstall? If not, what was your last video card?

No problems here with the latest drivers. I've played CoD:2 almost completely through without one error. 3dmark05 runs fine. Though when I tried to disable these copperhead mouse drivers in the task manager I got multiple bsod causing me to lose all of my firefox bookmarks... and probably screwing other random things up...

I dont think it's a driver probalem with you though.

Well I think my 3dmark problems was I wasn't feeding enough juice to my X2. It solved that problem.

I'm going to reinstall COD 2 and see what happens.

I seem to be having the same problems. The last drivers ran Cod2 fine. I have a 6800gt OC and a P4 3g. Nothing is overclocked, everything is normal temps, ran memtest over and over. All of my other games run fine. I am clueless.

Why don't you try 81.98 since it's the released, WHQL-certified version. (Or try the 82.12 Beta drivers.)

[Sorry, didn't realize thread was so old.]
