Possible bad HD 7950?

I recently purchased a Sapphire HD 7950, Did some minor overclocking, had it running rock solid at 1200/1600 @ 1.25v. Temps never went past 65 C. It was running this way for about a week now. Started up today, had major artifacts in all 3d applications I tried (Crysis 3, heaven). Reverted to stock clocks, same thing. Reinstalled drivers, same thing. Should I go ahead and RMA the card or am I doing something horribly wrong? Any help is appreciated.
 
I unfortunately do not have another computer to test with. Any other suggestions as to possible tests before I put in for an RMA? I should note I was running the 13.2 beta 6 drivers initially, just tried uninstalling those and going to 13.1 WHQL. No luck there either.

Decided to just go ahead and RMA it. To me artifacts at stock clocks are enough to warrant it.
 
1.25V isn't minor overclocking... those Sapphire boards aren't the best for overclocking either. Sounds like you're burning up the chips. Just because the GPU is cool doesn't mean the rest of the board is. Get a RMA while you can.
 
1.25V was quite literally the stock voltage. The Sapphire boards ship with a bios that has the voltage at 1.25V. I monitored the VRM temperatures also. They never went past 80C. I'm fairly certain it wasn't a cooling issue, I may have simply pushed the silicon too far.
 
Yes the Sapphire boost edition Dual X come with 1.25V as the stock boost voltage, so no I don't think this has anything to do with you messing it up as a result of overclocking.

Get a RMA and please update us on how it works out.
 
Defintely RMA.

What is your definition of rock solid? Did you test several runs of benchmarks?

Whats your PSU?
 
screw the voltage you're calling 1200mhz core a minor overclock? that's a 50% bump from the reference clocks. Not that I think that's what it's wrong but that's not very minor.
 
that's a driver issue i had that problem on a friends PC we installed older drivers and the artifacts went away
 
I received my replacement card earlier this week and have been working on Its OC (a but more cautious than last time). As for the card mentioned in this thread, I was unable to determine if it was a hardware or software issue but RMA'd to be safe.
