i have that free time warner wireless router that is made from thompson and i always loose connection on my wired connection. sometimes just aim goes out and not the internet it pisses me off so much i just wanna pound it with a hammer. so why does my internet keep cutting out and is there a way to fix it?

If you hate your router so much, get a new one. That seems to be the simplist answer to your problems. If you want a more exact diagnoses of your problem, try providing us with some error logs or diagnostic data that could help us.

Or even contacting Time Warner instead of us. They knoe their equipment better than us. But as slow said, get your own router
