Recently, I have been getting popping sounds. these sounds come from the speakers once in a while. Question is, is this coming from my x-fi card or my logitech 5.1 speakers? I wish i had another set of speakers so i could test.

From the card. This is a known issue with some PC configurations. Unfortunately its pretty hard to tie down. Its something to do with PCI bandwidth. Check the creative forums for more information. Creative blame the issue on the Nforce chipset mobo's, but thats bull since i get the same issue with my Audigy 2 ZS and i have an ATI chipset mobo. However, my problem goes away if i remove my PCI USB 2.0 card.

My x-fi extreme gamer card works on my system flawlessly, but just recently when i check my email for some reason outlook sorta froze or lagged behind, then my headphones blew up with a loud screech. This is the first time this has happened in over 6 months since i got my card, but so far my X-fi runs great.

But before i built this system, i had the same extreme gamer card on my nforce 4 board and it just gave me nightmares with everything going wrong, and at first i too would get the popping issue which turned around to a loud scream everytime i would boot up, and would not go away.

My solution at the time was go back to my audigy 2 zs.

So if you have a nforce 4 board i would not recomend getting one.
