I was hoping that someone could tell me why I have such a low
windows 7 performance rating 6.0. If you look at my sig I have a Areca 1210
pci sata controller card with dual 300GB Vraptors in raid 0.

vista reported 5.9 ( just 1 shy of the Maximum)

I know that this rating does not mean much to some people but
what if windows uses these ratings to adjust certain parameters
within the O.S. (just guessing)

HD Tach reports :
read speed 212 mbs
burst speed 680 Mbs

Am I just worried about nothing?

Thank you for your help

Windows 7 automatically underrates any rotational media, just because the *experience* with an SSD is like night and day versus a mechanical drive. You will need an SSD to easily crack the 6.0 barrier (it can be done with disks, but only at great cost).

A mechanical drive can't handle parallel I/O requests as smoothly as an SSD can.

Unless you have an SSD, Windows 7 does nothing different regardless of the drive. If you do have an SSD, Windows disables the defrag service.
