I OC'ed a Barton 2500 to 400mhz fsb. All analysis software shows the processor as 3200. Rock solid and stable.

Yet when I benchmark, its only slightly better than my previous 2000XP. For example, on Sandra arithmetic benchmark, my 2500 oc'ed to 3200 only barely beats a 2600, and loses to a 2800.

Ive got dual 3200 RAM at 1:1 with cpu, so whats the problem here. Why is performance so poor?
 
Another strange thing, Windows reports my processor as XP 3200, but reports speed as 1.83, the stock 2500 speed.

However, my BIOS reports cpu as 3200 with the proper 2.2GHz speed.

Whats going on here?
 
Maybe it has something to do with your motherboard. BTW: do you have any benchmarks??
 
Head on over to your favorite search engine and look up CPUID, download and run it. That will tell you what speed your CPU is running at. Sounds like your OC isnt applied. I can't imagine how that would happen.
