My specs are in the sig, except for the fact that I have the X850XT at PE speeds set to "Only in 3D" in CCC . It's a fairly new install of Windows, about a week old. Settings are at "High" with 4x AA (In-game) and 8x HQ AF (CCC). I'm running at native res, which is of course 1280x1024 (In-game also). I'll be playing, and all of a sudden my FPS drops to 10-20. I'm using FRAPS to determine the FPS. I may have been because my processor, which was clocked 3.4 at the time...I lowered it a bit to see if that was the problem.

Edit: Well, It seemed that the problem lied with the processor, which makes sense because it failed Prime95 after a couple of minutes. I think I'm fine...but I'm gonna bump the AF back to 16x ;) According to the CCC, I'm idling at 47 C. Is that safe?

Thats safe, I'd recommend dropping down textures to Medium unless you have 2Gb of ram. You'll get lots of hitching otherwise.

Thanks :)

I know many people have hot prescotts, but idling at 47C is not good... my 3.0 GHz prescott idles at 36C... (stock HSF)

im having simliar problems but i think its my video card overclock. i could be wrong tho. does any other game have poor performance at that cpu speed?
