Aint it funny how 10 seconds with the sink sprayer can make a world of difference?
 
Hooooooly craaaap :eek: :eek: :eek: Let me guess, was it in a restaurant enviroment? I've seen that same kinda dust grease time and time again in our POS systems.
 
maybe use a passive heatsink. :D

I bet there would be atleast a 20c difference between clean and unclean.

Thats nothing.....My friend brought me his comp told he it wouldnt boot.Opened it the fan fell off and was sitting on the videocard.There was so much dust it stopped the fan and the HS got so hot it melted the plastic clips it was a AMD its dead now....there was NO thermal paste when i took the HS off.
 
May i know it it is possible to remove that Heatsink ? and how ? ive got the same one and cant seem to get it off.
 
the computers in my job are worst.one of them the dust is coming though the front bezel.
 
I had work on one for a customer just like that last night... unfortunately, his was already dead from the crap in HSF.

Dirt/dust/crap in HSF = BAD for P4's :)
