First, I want to thank all of you for your help on polishing the brushed aluminum parts of my case. Next I would like to ask this:
How do I get a deep looking finish on my Antec case that I have painted metallic Blue. The paint went on nicely. The clear coat (Rustoleum Clear spray finish) is going on a little splotchy. I have done 2 coats of clear so far. Do I need to just keep putting on layers of clear? What should I do? Thanks.

Glenn

I havent used the spray can clear coat, but prep is the key
make sure the coats dry in between applying them, you will have to sand and buff the final coat of clear to get that deep mirror finish look

Are you sanding the clearcoat at all? You may want to try sanding it down lightly with 2000 grit until it is nice and flat (start with 1000 and 1500 if you need to).

You do, however, need to make sure you have a decent layer of clearcoat before you sand, otherwise you will sand through and it will look like crap.

Personally, I use scratch remover (such as the stuff made by 3M) and it works beautifully to remove scratches and add a nice reflective finish. You may want to look into some other polishes to use on top of the 3M stuff to add more lustre, too.

Good luck, and take your time.

I used the same clear. Sand the clear with 1200Grit sand paper (wet). Then go over the case with rubbing compond (i used a old T-shirt to rub lol).

From what you guys are saying, I think I'm just not putting on enough clear coat. I did a couple of quick spray coats, sanded it lightly, then tried some Maguire's color enhancer car polish which didn't work worth a crap. I'll sand off the polish and work more on the clear coat. I see everyone talking about rubbing compound. I asked for that at autozone, and the guy didn't know what I was talking about. He just pointed me to the car polishes. What type of rubbing compound do you use, and where do you get it? Thanks.

Glenn

I helped a kid here with his case and spray bomb clear. Lots of coats is the key. We sprayed clear for a week and let it dry every night. I went through two big cans of clear before we were done with the top and sides.

You can get the rubbing compound at an auto body paint shop.
Usually the 3M stuff is great, and not very expensive
(it works great on cars, motorcycles, plexiglass, lexan as well)

I Wouldn't use it on plexi/lexean. It leaves very fine scraths.

Ps,

Not a good day for grammer...
