I got an EMAX POS Display on Ebay for $10 so I took out it's VFD and put in an IEE BG Micro VFD. I also added a switch. The VFDs were the same size but I had to move the screw holes alittle.

Does anyone know how to make my serial connector more secure? It's a crimp style but I only used 2 pins so the other 7 have nothing to hold onto making the connector loose.

sorry im not sure what you meen about your serial connector being more secure, if you meen the male conector as a hole, build up some plastic around it to hold it in, and glue,

if your talking about wires, hot glue, maliable, easy to get your hands on, non conductive, make a little bracket around the inside of the female conector, be sure your connections are ok and fill it in, then tack the wires down with a little slack between the glued in female connector, and where you tack it down, so any little moving that may happen wont pop your connections...

if that makes sence, hope it helps, if it doesnt, sorry' but nice dolfin

Oh thanks about the dolphin. I made that is art class when I was 12 out of plaster. The connector is fine I mean the male plug falls out as the female it only has 2 pins in it (All I needed to wire it) so the male pins have nothing to grip on. I guess I could stick the rest of pins in there. or get a solder connector.

you cant screw the male onto the female? maybe some kinda strap to go around the male, like velcrow just to hold the wire...

or build some kinda stand to clip the male into,

but puting in a couple more pins sounds like it may work (cant hurt)
good luck
