Ohh i know it won't be pretty, the discussion thread is already going no where but anyways it gives anyone the chance to vent about the system if they so choose.

Frankly, it is the first and only time I have agreed with 7im's position and reasoning. I now find myself doubting my own opinion on the matter simply because of that.

Never mind, they scrapped the poll and started over with a new one. The link still works though

Only thing you can fairly change is unit values of the future.

If you changed everything, you'd have to go back and correct all the past scores that would either be under valued or over valued. Too much work, and probably not possible.

I disagree, if only because past work is already pretty severely undervalued. Points were much harder to come by 5 years ago.. such that I can do more points in 1 day than it took me to do in a year or more. My first million took several years. the next 19 took about 2 years and the last 15 took about 3 months. To me its irrelevant though. I have always thought that PPD was the best way to look at the output, not lifetime scores. The project has always been changing and to compare overall point totals is meaningless. If some people who were heavy hitters back in the day want to get upset that their past work isn't being counted as much.. I say too bad. I will always compare people based on their current contributions to the project while being thankful for the giants who came before us.
